SMPTE detection detects any change in forward direction timecode or frame errors. This prevents stuck buffers from frozen or crashed playback sources otherwise undetected by the simple presence of tone.

The Nemesis ACS-PLUS Stereo Auto Switch is a 1U rack mount unit that automatically switches between two stereo audio signals using XLR3 balanced cables, by detecting the presence of playback signals using either a 1 kHz tone or SMPTE time code.
Designed primarily for live concerts, stage shows and theatre where backing tracks are used for orchestration, vocals and sound effects, this allows you to set up a redundant backup system which automatically switches between two sources should a failure of one of the sources occur. There are 2 modes of operation:

Also included on the unit is a MIDI output for use with MIDI controlled audio switchers.
